Working with McConnell Dowell, Draeinail installed a wastewater rising main. The new 560 diameter PE pipeline was laid alongside an existing 5 km section of 600 diameter concrete gravity main. Works also included connecting a 710 PE sewer line into the existing Frankton pump station and updating pump station pipework.

With the pipeline invert below lake level, groundwater and challenging ground conditions required careful management. Extensive air and hydro excavation was used to work around protected tree roots and existing underground services.

Restricted access and busy public walkways added to the complexity of the works. Alternative pedestrian routes were maintained to keep public access open throughout construction.
